The new Look- the new Facebook

It’s what everyone is talking about, and I say embrace it, don’t hate it!

The changes bring about, well change, which many people do not like, but you also have to remember, Facebook is a free social network site that allows you to connect with family, friends, longs losts and businesses. Take the changes in and use them to your advantage.

The NEW Timeline.
Facebook introducted the new timeline which is calls the ‘story of your life’ and it really is.

I uploaded the application for it yesterday to have a sneak peak myself and it starts from 1984- the year I was born. Of course it doesn’t have anything on there until August 2007, the year I joined Facebook, and also interestingly the year I started my business. Too bad, I am not as big as ‘Facebook’, one day (one can dream).

All of your photos, statuses, applications, notes and even posts that you are tagged on appear on your page.
The idea is, you can view your life, in a simple Timeline, as Facebook displays your important events and when those events happened.

You can easily remove events, photos or status updates from your timeline, so that people can not view these.

Facebook developed a new application just for this to take effect. You notice when you connect to certain applications on Facebook you will have a box appear asking for your permission to ‘grab’ and obtain your information in order for the application to work properly.  Applications can now publish to a user’s stream, but does not have to prompt a user. This action will fill your profile and also discover new things about your friends and long story short, this brings about of us knowing what a person is doing, instead of what they like.

Now you can view everything you have done, and anything your friend has done, and you can add applications from a friends timeline, which for an app builder is fantastic and will enable their invention to become more known and used by others.

Here is an example of what it will look like come October

In my opinion it is a much cleaner and inviting looks. It is interesting to see and look back on your years and yes I have taken advantage of my space and branded my cover picture.  (Which I can also design for you)

There are some more changes, so will be posting throughout the week about them all so you are informed of what is to come.

To grow you must change, to change you must grow. As I said, Embrace and take advantage of the changes Facebook is making.

    Hi Erin,
I like what I see. So will this happen for businesses as well? So the profile pictures we have now won’t be needed? How much will a cover picture cost to have done?

Could be a good thing for businesses too I think.

    Thanks
    Annette xxx
